Attending the Symposium: How to Submit a Travel Grant Application to the Phospholipid Research Center

 

The Phospholipid Research Center (PRC) is pleased to announce the award of 10 Travel Grants to support PhD students attending the 9th International Symposium on Phospholipids in Pharmaceutical Research held in Heidelberg from August 31 to September 02, 2026.

This Travel Grant program is designed to support early-career researchers in the phospholipid field, promoting scientific exchange and fostering international collaboration.

Eligibility
  • Open to PhD students from outside Germany. Applicants from low- and middle-income countries are particularly encouraged to apply, though this is not mandatory.
  • Applicants do not need to be members of the Phospholipid Research Center.
  • An additional track record in the phospholipid field (e.g., publications, awards) to demonstrate motivation is beneficial.
Requirements

Applicants must:

1) Register for the Symposium.

2) Submit an abstract for either a poster presentation or a short talk at the Symposium.

3) Provide all required application materials in a single PDF file, including

  • Motivation Letter (explaining why you wish to attend and how participation will benefit your research)
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Abstract submitted for the Symposium
  • Optional: PDFs of relevant publications or achievements

  • Application opens: mid-January 2026 (exact date to be announced)
  • Application closes: 31 March 2026
  • Only one application per applicant will be considered.
Grant Details
  • Number of Grants: 10
  • Maximum amount per grant: €500
  • The award will cover actual travel costs incurred for participation in the 9th International Symposium on Phospholipids in Pharmaceutical Research
  • Grant recipients will receive funds after the event, upon submission of receipts or invoices documenting the travel expenses.
Selection Process
  • Applications will be evaluated by the Scientific Advisory Council of the Phospholipid Research Center.
  • The decision will be announced in late April / early May 2026.
  • All decisions are final.
Notes
  • Travel Grants are intended solely to facilitate attendance at the Symposium and cannot be transferred to another person or used for other purposes.
  • Recipients are expected to actively participate in the Symposium, presenting their research either as a poster or a short talk.
